Fairhaven's Christmas Lights Walk runs on 12 evenings from 21 November to 23 December, 4pm to 8.30pm. Adults £8.95, children £5.95, under-4s and dogs free.
Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden at South Walsham has published its full Christmas programme, and the Christmas Lights Walk runs on 12 evenings this year, from Saturday 21 November to Wednesday 23 December. Tickets are £8.95 for adults and £5.95 for children aged 4 to 15, with under-4s and dogs free.
It is one of the few Broadland winter events with every date and price already out. Blickling’s Garden of Lights has not yet been announced (see our Blickling Christmas page).

The lights walk
The trail runs through the woodland past the garden’s King and Queen Oaks, with illuminated deer families along the way, and finishes beside a fire. The café stays open through the evening serving hot drinks and hot chocolate with marshmallows (Christmas Light Walks).

Tickets are sold in 30-minute arrival slots. You arrive at the time on your ticket, then walk the trail at your own pace. Wrap up: the whole thing is outdoors, in woodland, after dark.
The first night is market day
Saturday 21 November is also Fairhaven’s Christmas Market, open 11am to 8pm with free admission, with stalls from local makers selling handmade gifts, decorations, food and seasonal drinks. Wreath making
Fairhaven runs two-hour wreath workshops in a heated marquee, using foliage cut in the garden. Tea or coffee and a mince pie are included; bring your own secateurs and an apron (Wreath Making Workshop).

Winter opening hours
The garden is open every day of the year except Christmas Day. From October to March it shuts at 4pm. The Christmas and New Year hours are shorter (What’s on at Fairhaven):

Daytime entry is a separate ticket from the lights walk: £12 adults, £10 concessions (65+, students, disabled people and carers), £6.50 children aged 4 to 16, £30 for a family of two adults and up to two children, under-4s free and dogs on leads 50p. Those prices include a 10% voluntary donation; the same price applies online and on the door (Admission prices). Getting there
Fairhaven is on School Road, South Walsham, NR13 6DZ, about nine miles east of Norwich. It is signed from the A47 at the B1140 junction for South Walsham. By bus, the stops in South Walsham village are a 10 to 15 minute walk away. By boat, moor on South Walsham Outer Broad, not the Inner Broad, and walk just over a mile (Find us). - How fast slots sell. The December weekend and 18 to 23 December evenings are the ones to book early; we will note here if dates sell out.
- Parking on lights nights. The garden has not published any separate evening parking arrangement.
